Magnus Lekven has comed to an agreement with the Danish club Esbjerg, running from january 1st 2013.
That was confirmed by Varden today. He will play for ODD till the end of the season, unless Esbjerg can tempt ODD with so much money that they can accepct a early leave. Lekven has made his opinions very clear since january, and there is no surprise that he made this choice.
That leaves us with a very empty central midfield, as the only options is 19 year old Fredrik Oldrup Jensen and Aleksandar Corovic. Those are very different players in comparison to Lekven. We will miss his defensive marking, his creativity and technical skills. His passes and finishes will not be missed though.
Samuelsen for four more years
At the same time as Lekvens transfer got known, ODD arranged a press conference at Skagerak Arena. They revealed that Jone Samuelsen had made up his mind, and put pen to paper. The size of his wage is not known yet, but as the club economy in general has gone down, there won’t be a surprise if he aswell has accepted less lucrative conditions. Samuelsen said that his family situation (expecting kids) was a majour element, as he wanted secure the income. He got questioned if he wanted to end his career at ODD, but he couldnt say yes or no at this point.
Jone Samuelsen is very popular among the fans, and this is a glimmer of light in dark times.
