The club had its top in the late 60s/early 70s, with three cup victories in five years. But those times ended brutally with the relegation in 1976, and it took long time till they rose to the top once again. For thirteen years they failed to reach the top division, but in 1989 they made it. The following years was a rollercoaster up and down. Relegated in 1991, promoted in 1993, down in 1999, and then a following promotion, and then again, relegation when they lost 4-2 away against ODD in the last game. In between that, they won the cup in 1991, lost in the final in 1993, and 1997. They promoted again in 2006, and been in the top division since that. Recently they also won the cup in 2010.

Importance of this match:
The fans has started to show their anger towards Dag Eilev Fagermo. They demand a win. If not, they’ll start to demonstrate. Facing rivals and gold hunters Strømsgodset, this will be difficult for Fagermo and his men. As Molde lost on saturday, Godset can extend their lead to seven points. If ODD win they can climb a few spots, with a bit of luck.
History between the clubs:
The two clubs has had many bonds an collisions over the years, and especially in recent time. Players Alexander Aas played for ODD in many seasons, Peter Kovacs was an ODD-player from 2008 to 2010 with great success. Coach Ronny Deila was an ODD fan and played for the club in over ten seasons, before leaving the club quite controversally in 2004. Dag-Eilev Fagermo coached strømsgodset from 2006 to 2007, whereas Deila was the assistant coach. At the same time strømsgodset loaned ODDs central defender Jan-Frode Nornes, who now is Fagermos assistant in ODD.
The last league game ended with a 1-0 win to strømsgodset, where former ODD player Alexander Aas scored the single goal.
