Rosenborg wanted revenge for ther 1-0 loss at home 16th may, while ODD wanted to strike back from the memories of the 7-0 loss at Lerkendal last season. No one got what they wanted.
The whole game ended up as being one way traffic against André Hansen and his goal. Rosenborg kept the ball almost all the way, but didn’t manage to create much.
Rosenborgs first chance came after 26 minutes. Markus Henriksen got the ball inside the box, turned away two defenders, but missed the target with one meter. It took ten minutes for their next attempt to come. Ole Selnæs got a freekick from 18 meters, a chance he spoiled by hitting the post, outside of Hansens reach. That was in all honesty the happenings in the first 45 minutes. Rosenborg with the possession, mostly since ODDs attacking display was embarrasing.
The second half started in the same way. The ODD attack didn’t excist untill Frode Johnsen entered the pitch after 60 minutes. He managed to get some spirit back in the team, and with him on the pitch the lads got to play a bit on the Rosenborg half. But Rosenborg was again the team that had the possibilities. Rade Prica suddenly found himself alone with the keeper, but Hansen prevented what would be a winner, with just three minutes left on the clock. And by fisting a second Selnæs freekick over the bar a little later, he won a point for us. In injury time Jone Samuelsen was awarded his second yellow card, and are therefore banned against the rats from drammen (Strømsgodset).
There’s no need to say that this was disappointing, even at Lerkendal. It was primetime TV, and ODD performed the most anonymous display of football since I don’t know.
