Hønefoss BK is the result of merges of a number of clubs. IF Liv was founded in 1895. Fossekallen IF was founded in 1909, and in 1940 they merged with Hønefoss AIL. Fossekallen and Liv merged in 1987, and from 2002 the name was changed to what it is now.
First time they attended Tippeligaen was in 2010. They lost their six first games, and fired coach Ole Bjørn Sundgot. Tom Guldbrandsen took over the responsibility, but he didn’t manage to save the club from relegation. They promoted straight back, and are standing much stronger now than in 2010.

Importance of this match:
Hønefoss has had a good start, but with two draws in three games at home, the Hønefoss fans wants a new threepointer. ODD on their side hasn’t rised from the poor start yet, and a win is the only thing good enough. There’s only two points difference in Hønefoss’s favour, so ODD can pass them with a victory.
History between the clubs:
Officially the first game was played in 2008. ODD had just relegated, met Hønefoss at a early point and beated them 2-0. The opposite meeting was won by Hønefoss, where ODD could have sealed the promotion with a win. The most remarkable day was the cup tia at Aka Arena in 2010, where ODD won 5-1, and Morten Fevang and Håvard Storbæk performed the famous goal selebration «The roll» for the first time.
